Ingredients

  • For the Dough:
    • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup of sugar granulated
    • One package (2 14 teaspoons) active dry yeast
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melting
    • 3 cups warm, home-cooked milk
    • 1 large egg
  • For the Filling:
    • 1/2 cup unsweetened butter softened
    • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
    • Two tablespoons of ground cinnamon
  • For the Icing:
    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1/4 cup unsweetened butter softened
    • 1 Cup powdered sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a large mixing bowl mix two cups of flour with sugar, yeast and salt. Add warm milk, the butter and egg. Beat until smooth. Gradually add the rest of the flour until you have an elastic dough.

The dough should be spread out on a surface that is floured and then work for 5 minutes until the dough is elastic and smooth. Put the dough in a bowl that has been greased covered with a lid, then let the dough rise in a warm location for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Once the dough has firmed up and rolled out, you can roll it into a 15×9-inch rectangular. Spread the butter that has been softened across the dough. Mix the cinnamon and brown sugar together, and then sprinkle it on top of the butter.

Make sure the dough is tightly rolled from the long side, then divide into twelve rolls. Place the rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Let them rise covered until 30 mins.

Pre-heat your oven to 350 deg F (175degC). Cook the bread rolls 20-25 mins or until golden brown.

While the rolls bake make for the frosting by mixing cream cheese and butter, sugar, powdered sugar and vanilla until it is it is smooth. Spread the icing on the warm rolls.
