Maple Glazed Carrots – A Sweet and Savory Winter Side Dish
Maple Glazed Carrots are a delicious and simple side dish, ideal to serve with winter meals. Naturally sweet, carrots is accentuated by a delicious caramelized maple syrup, which makes them an excellent accompanying dish to any main meal.
Ingredients
- 1lb (450g) carrots peeled and cut into sticks
- 2 tablespoons butter that is unsalted
- 2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 tablespoon brown
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon (optional)
- Salt and pepper as desired
- Fresh parsley chopped (optional)
Execution
In a large pot melt the butter over a medium-low temperature. Add the carrots and sauté for 5-7 minutes at least until the carrots begin to become soft.
Add the brown sugar, maple syrup and cinnamon (if you are using it) as well as salt and pepper. Continue cooking for another 5-7 minutes, while stirring often until the carrots become tender and the glaze becomes smooth and glossy.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley just prior to serving.
